i say obesity as a felony
lol guilty as charged officer
is this some sort of roleplay?
Because normally i'd just assume you're blaque or messican and taser you
Well I used to think like ya'll but this could be the case for some. There was a 12 year old here that was to be turned over to the DSS due to his obesity. He truely had a serious health problem. He was gaining a 1/2 pound of weight each day. His mother took him against the courts wishes and they found them about 1000 miles away. Technically she put her sons life in danger.
that's not a disability though... You might as well say the same about every kid who's parents smoke.
No the courts ordered him to be turned over because he was going to die at that rate. He didn't have a choice in the matter of him being overweight.
Ever see a middle aged obese guy try to wedge himself into a subcompact car?![]()

Are you trying to tell us you've got "more cushin' for the pushin'"?

I could beat up the guy in your avi
Is child abuse a disability?
U dickhead. It wasn't an issue of child abuse. H physically had something wrong glandular wise. She wasn't seeing to his health like the courts said to and they took charge. Adding on 1/2 pound per day is more than just an eating disorder.
How about people with COPD who smoked themselves into oblivion? They are most definately physically limited in a way that affects their daily life activites, however they did it themselves. What say you?
well, smoking is limited to 18+ years old and we've known about the dangers now for a long time. So maybe they should make fast food 21 and over??
yes, and people with copd secondary to tobacco abuse can collect disability. Is that fair?
what's copd again?
chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder
Worldwide, COPD ranked sixth as the cause of death in 1990. It is projected to be the third leading cause of death worldwide by 2020 due to an increase in smoking rates and demographic changes in many countries.[2] COPD is the 4th leading cause of death in the U.S., and the economic burden of COPD in the U.S. in 2007 was $42.6 billion in health care costs and lost productivity.[4][5]

sounds bad. Does that happen "only" from smoking?
No, but the etiology of COPD from smoking in developed countries is about 90%

Just another way for people to blame their mental weakness on something else. "Oh, my glands are bad." no, you eat too much. "Oh, I can't exercise because I have bad knees." no, you are just lazy.
These people caused their own disability. It wasn't anyone else's fault (except when they are kids - then the parents are to blame). If I cut off my own arm or leg, can I claim disability? Yes. But just like these fatties I would be looked upon as sad and stupid.
My solution: sure, give them disability. With a time line. Every month you get your check - however, you have to weigh in every month to prove that you are making an effort to lose weight and GET OFF of disability. If you don't lose 4-6 pounds, check doesn't come. Same as people on unemployment that are required to be looking for jobs to collect their money.
Also, stigmatize them - make sure everyone knows that they are so lazy they have to let the government pay them because they are too fat.
I have no patience for this crap.
Take this as I'm saying it. You should fall to your knees and thank GOD (or whatever) every single day of your life that you don't live in pain and your health is good. Because sooner or later, if you live long enough, gravity and natural erosion will probably show you just how much chronic pain can wear you down.Just another way for people to blame their mental weakness on something else.
