Obama Lays-Out $1.5T in New Taxes

Just so we're all clear, Reagan's only two options were:

1) Spend a shit load of money
2) War

Literally nothing else between the two? Ok.

ur dealing with a binary brain so yes, everything in life is boiled down to 1's and 0's. Everything can be solved as long as you can chop it down to choice A or choice B. <binary thought>

your welcome. :coffee:

So military spending in inevitable and inescapable? I guess cutting the defense budget is off the table.

I'm surprised you feel that way.

No, I'm just saying that Reagan didn't save us a penny, because closing one door opened another.

Then Bush was pulled into the war on terror due to Reagan closing the door on the cold war. Sounds like George W didn't have a choice.

More binary thinking. Bush's reaction was not the only possibility.

Especially when it comes to Iraq, which had nothing to do with terrorism.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world: Those who understand binary and those who do not.

So Reagan really did create a huge savings opportunity by ending the cold war, but Bush chose to spend those savings on the war on terror!

When you stop spending like a drunken sailor, that's defined as "saving"?

Nice dodge.

We've made drastic cuts to cold war spending. Reagan played a role in the end of the cold war.

Those facts are inescapable.

If the cold war ending gave rise to the war on terror as you claimed earlier, then our more recent defense spending appears unavoidable.

If the war on terror is a separate and unrelated action, then Reagan helped us save huge amounts of money and Bush in turn re-spent that money.

I know you libs aren't very good with logic or money, but you don't get to have things both ways.
