Nursing a sick dog...

It looks like it's going to be an all nighter. So far he's been drinking water on a somewhat regular basis and he's been able to keep down the chicken broth I've been giving him. I may try water soaked dog food in the morning as long as he continues to keep down the broth and the water. Poor old guy. I wish I could do something else to help him feel better. He sounds and looks so uncomfortable.

The vet has already been out to check on him. Doc is pretty sure that Boomer ate something that's not agreeing with him. I wouldn't doubt it... damn dog will eat almost anything. He seems be doing better. He kept down the chicken broth soaked food I gave him a little while ago. He's acting like he's more comfortable. He's not back to 100%, but he's getting there.

You could always give him pediatric elecrolyte if he's been throwing up a lot. They really like it.

It's gentle and loving of you to be nursing your sick dog in such an unconditionally-caring manner. I hope he gets well soon.

He's doing much better now. He must have had doggie flu. Today he was dancing for me on the deck and he's been keeping his food down. Phew! At his age he can't afford to get sick like that.
