THAAD has had / is having issues with shooting down incoming missiles.

A high power laser, if it hits the missile, will destroy it. It doesn't take much to screw something up that's flying multiple mach. The walls of the missle are thin and the laser exploits that.

i never said it was a flawless system. by using your logic, i guess the wright brothers should never have wasted their time on airplanes, since it only went a couple hundred feet. i guess people shouldnt try to do anything, since they might fail.

plus, deficits wont kill us. they didn't in the 80's and they wont now. and why is it such a bad thing when our politicians have less of our money to use to police us with?

Yes, it is. It's a different environment. In some respects it is very sterile, in other respects it is not. When a SAM is launched at you and you hear it tracking your ass, it get's mighty personal, real quick. I've had that happen and believe me, it sends a chill down the spine.

What type or size of the weapon? Fission/Fusion Weapon? Regardless of the type you would have to use the Blast radius Vs the area of the US to find your answer!

Out of curiosity, what do you all think will happen if Korea does launch a Nuclear attack on the US? The US is 4800 miles from N. Korea and their 3 state Taepo Dong 2 missile can supposedly go for 9300 miles.
