NC Baptist Church Bans Democrats.

Here's the video of the WLOS-TV story (A Sinclair Station!). Unbelievable. Churchgoers being barred from the East Waynesville (NC) Baptist Church for being Democrats. 40 others walked out in protest.

LMAO!!!! I have to send that to my Mom. She just sold a house she had in Hendersonville because of all the uptight Baptists. There are like a billion Baptist churches in that city and none of them get along with each other. Half of them would pray for us when they saw us in a restaurant. :eek2:

While it's completely retarded a church is still a private business and can ban whoever they want. Not smart at all but what else were you expecting from them...

I agree but it's time to revoke that church's tax exempt status.

They are public non-profit institutions in the states. Thats how they get a tax exempt statuts. They are crossing the political fray line and should lose that status and become a taxable entity.

Not a good idea,

Churches maintain thier tax-exempt status until they become political, as soon as they ban member based upon political affiliation they should lose that status.

That being said, if they could do it on a moral ground, like a platform position on abortion, then they may have legal standing.
