Nice, props to cell phone insurance

The old blackberry shit the bed, so called in the insurance on it. I pretty much answered incorrectly to all the questions (did not drop it, no water got in it, no physical damage) in order to get the claim approved, but the guy let it go anyway. AND, they didn't have my model in stock so they're sending a newer model instead. And for delivery tomorrow.

i just got my son the envy phone- so i definately got insurance with it- but i get it on every phone- there's a $50 deductable, but it's worth it.

I broke my phone last year with no insurance. The CS rep said I had to pay full price $180-$280 or something to get a new one, or if i could find a better deal at my local Verizon store. I called the local store and told them what happened, they said "Oh, you would just pay $50 and get a replacement phone."


Me (Mr. honesty): "Ummm, but i don't have insurance."

Local Verizon chick: "That's OK, that's how much it would cost."

Yep. I bought my bberry used at a local Verizon store in NY run by young cool kids. Dude was like "just buy this used one, call insurance in a month and tell em it busted. They'll send you a new one for $50". Good stuff. I will never not buy insurance on my phone after having to pay full price the first time I busted it.

No; just the insurance. The really sad thing is the second phone they sent me - I dropped it on the kitchen floor taking it out of the box they sent it to me in....for the first time. It worked but if you squeezed it the call would get cut off.
