Newbies read this. Mods don't take this sticky down!

Keep this thread what it is supposed to be okay! It is important for all of us! Here it is again.

Well since I have been getting busy again deleting and fixing up source posts, I figured it was time to put up the old sticky again! I will take it down and put it back up from time to time now....when it gets stupid!

This is my post on board commonsense:

1. Do NOT post or request a source on the open board! If you do this, more than once you could be banned from the board.

2.Do not ask any Mod for a source after you have been here for a day. Hang out, learn, and earn our trust. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS!

3. Do NOT request a source through a PM. It is not safe and it puts you and us at more risk than we already are.

4. If you have a question about a source, especially if you are asking if you may post his name as a scammer; email a moderator first. Do not take it upon yourself to post a sources name as a scammer without checking with a moderator first; you may think you know a lot more than you really do!

5. Do not ask about someone’s legitimacy as a source on the board. This puts the source and you at risk!

6.There is no discussion of prices on this board, it has caused problems in the past so we've put an end to it. (edit genarr3)

7. Please keep flames to a minimum: People come to the board to ask questions and get help. Flaming someone takes away from the quality of the board and the posts it contains. Sometimes it is funny and sometimes it is warranted, and deserved! Use commonsense

8. Read the TOS:
http://www.elitefitness.com/members/theproject/tos.html (edit genarr3)

Other things:

- Please refrain from lengthy posts IN ALL CAPS, it is the equivalent of yelling and it is hard to read lengthy posts written in all caps.

I’d like to thank Willyumyum for helping me out with ideas on this!

If asking for advice on any sort of AAS or the like please include the following information:

1 - Age
2 - Lifting History
3 - Height
4 - Weight
5 - Estimated BF% (Or at least, lean/think/fat etc...)
6 - Diet
7 - Goals
8 - Proposed cycle (To show that you've at least done a little homework.)

This info is important to allow use to help you out... it's kind of like a doctor giving a consultation to someone on the phone. Without this info, it's difficult to asses peoples' needs... and isn't that great to give half-baked advice based solely on assumptions... I was a newbie once, and it tends to get peoples' goat seeing similar questions being asked... people on the board can be a little testy (no pun intended), and it will just help you get help more quickly...

Use the Search feature as well... you can get a LOT of info from previously posted discussions...

Thanks...

S.

Good idea, I think there isn't much benefit of flaming someone and thier post 30 times in the same thread, if you don't like it just move on, or add some constructive criticism, without going overboard.

Quadsweep, I'm sure my post was deleted and I didn't do any of the things you listed. I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but what was the proper thing to do in this situation?

I think it was just deleted because anything having to do with sources are usually kept quiet...and you found out what you needed to know, so there was really no reason to leave it up.

#8 is true. i know i've lost all my post a couple of times and the everytime i'd post some info to a question i would get flammed. something like "I ASKED FOR VETS INPUT, NOT NEWBIES" (sorry for the caps but they did yell at me. . .and made me cry) :(

i think it's also important to remember the opposite is also true. don't think just because someone has 10,000 post that they know what they are talking about. odds are they will, but now that there are the chat sections to this board, they may have made all of their posts over there.

like they said, do your homework and read read read. you will be able to tell very quickly who knows what they are talking about and who has no clue.

I am full of BS Always have been and always will - I can't help it. I just don't ever know what I'm really talking about so I try and compensate my lack of understanding of the most basic principals of lifting by BSing.
