Ok, in the next year or two, I may be moving to New York City... I've always HATED this city with a passion... I love the midwesta metropolis I currently live in... I love it to death.

What is good about New York for a guy like me? I mean, I'm a lawyer, workout nut, Anabolic connoisseur... I don't like tons of assholes... I tend to bring out the brass knucks and start swining like a mac-10 if I am surrounded by them. And how many "HEy... how you doing" Itialians are there? You know, the sterio-typical new yorker?

I've only been to the city twice... and thne I really didn't leave the downtown area... I thought it wasn't too clean, but that might have just be an inpression.

So, all of you New Yorkers out there... let me know about this, ok?

NYC cultivates assholes like a nebraska farmer cultivates corn!

You are right...alot of attitude here, the city is dirty, and forget about lower Manhattan where I work...it is very depressing here...Life is what you make of it....Much like a mirror, you smile in it...the smile is reflected and vice versa... :)

Maybe he can go to your gym and ass fuck you in front of everyone while wearing one of your gay necklaces and yelling, "I only fuck with the light weights!"

I totally RESENT that coment.

Why, your wife not accepting the fact that you have a gay farmer in Nebraska tickling your man gland?

"Heya how yousa doin'' - that's actually Bay Ridge Brooklyn
(I love ya babies but you do tawlk like that sometimes.)

Bridge and tunnel people. Heh. (Jersey, Queens, Brooklyn & Staten Island mostly)

NYC really is not that bad. It's competitive but after a while you don't care anymore and it becomes a sort of rush to be the best at what you do. People tend to be direct and aren't afraid to tell you how, who and why so they may come across as rude but not all are rude just blunt.

There's a lot to see and enjoy: museums, architecture, theater, people, etc.

Subways - they smell - learn to LOVE walking. (I roller bladed everywhere) and yah, some parts of the city are more dirty than others but I suspect that will change, sadly due to 9/11 - it will probably become cleaner over the next few years.

Food - There's good food every where anytime, all night long.

There are a lot of lawyers and work out nuts in NY so surly you could fit in and besides there could be assholes anywhere you might go.

You better like concrete and paying through nose for rent.
What are studios these days? $2000+ a month? So you can imagine what a one or two bedroom may go for.

I bailed the city because I wanted a more quiet sort of life and the City wasn't turning me on anymore. Yet, when I travel in for work I do enjoy myself and tend to say *howdy* to my favorite haunting grounds.

It's an experience to have under your belt but then again I don't know you well enough to say whether or you could be happy there.

What kind of Law BTW?

Ever heard of Cravath, Swaine & Moore?

One more important factor.

Living and working in the city is NOT the same as commuting and working in the city.

You run into totally different situations.

Thanks for all the opinions guys...

I'm into transactional law, my specialty is Intellectual Property (Trademarks, copyrights and patents)... if anyone knows a firm hiring out there, let me know... that would be awesome... although, I don't know when I will be moving there... it just seems like something that will happen in the near future.

I'll have to steer clear of Brooklyn then..I think my girl wants to live there... she really likes the "Heys hows you doings..." accent they have... it would kill be to listen to those fucking freekasses....

Rent here is pretty high, but not 1500 for a studio... that's rediculous...
