New Watch - Good Price?

I damaged my earlier watch I had been using as a Dress Watch. I really loved that thing and it really drew the ladies despite being relatively cheap. It also had a compass and a bunch of other cool functions. Really unique looking (Nike Oregon Series Alti).

Tonight I decided to get a real watch and picked up a Tag Heuer Aquaracer.

I got it from a nice high-end watch shop. It was priced at 1700. My spider sense told me to offer him 1350 (1420 with tax). He said he had to talk to his manager and came back with approval.

Did I get a good deal?

Nice watch. I'll be pissed if it doesn't have the draw of the Nike that was under $200.

Its a nice watch, but honestly i wouldnt classify it as a dress watch. But as an everyday active watch, its nice.

as far as pricing, you didnt get raped, but i have seen them as low as a grand plus tax.

Looks great, but like jeepboi said, it's not really a "dress" watch. I'd say more upscale casual.

Did you get the blue face or black? Both look awesome. And you didn't get ripped. Tag is a high end name, and you get what you pay for with watches.

I actually use it as an every-day watch but for me, mostly use to Timex and GPS watches, it seems 'dressy.' And I don't think I actually want a 'dressy' watch because I don't personally want to wear jewelery. Function first.

Tags are good quality watches. The price seems about right for a brand new one with those specs. I would shop around more and look at some of the other "brands" before making a descision. If you already have made your discision, and are merely asking about the price, then I think the price that you quoted is right. Good luck.

Upscale casual totally suits it.

It looks nice; I prefer function over fashion most of the times, but this seems to fit under both.
