Velvett, you should check out "outside" magazine. It is a great outdoors magazine that has different articles about kayak, campimg, hiking, and biking trips. Several years ago they had an article about a kayak tour along a lake system in the Northeast, maybe lake champlain, and it looked like it would be a blast. :supercool

WOWOW

My looks so girlie in comparision.

I've done a few harbors (northwest and a few others), one lake (lake montauk) pond (georgica) and the bay over on the South fork of waaaaaaay eastern LI.

No flipping - can you flip in the waves out on the bay?
Waves can get pretty good.
I still have a lot to learn

I hope you fall as madly in love with your new bike as I have mine. We spend lots of time together.

I want a damn kayak. No fair. It's been on my wish list for a long time.

Lucky duck.

Fun stuff. :chomp:

yup you can still flip in the waves so id search for any info you can on learning to roll or take a course, I learned over the course of two years by studying pictures and online vids, I wish I kept the sites ,they helped alot.

as for your being girlie,I think thats a great boat to get started in,and once your ready or want to step it up to whitewater you can, if I took my boat in a lake or on flat water id die of exhaustion as its meant for whitewater.

have fun with it,kayaking is a great release,I get such a charged feeling everytime I get in my boat

Speaking of hot tubs, sex in the water sucks.
