New source of Protien: likely already at your grocery store...

I already drank this stuff occasionally when trying to cut carbs and it tastes ok. but i never thought of it as a possible protein source until now since i am going to be trying to gain weight/muscle. the product is called Calorie Countdown and it is a milk product made by Hood. i found it at every grocery store i have ever shopped in over the last year.

some things about it:

there are three versions of the milk, but the two that i drank were the 1) Fat Free version and the 2) Chocolate Milk version. Both taste pretty good, but for just drinking it i would likely use the chocolate since it has the chocolate flavor.

I have the Fat Free carton in front of me, let me post what is in it:

says in the carton outside 70% fewer calories, 75% fewer carbs, 75% less sugar than regular milk.

Serving size : 1 cup
Servings per container : 8
Calories per serving : 45
Fat 0g
Cholesterol 0mg
Sodium 160mg
Carbohydrates 3g
Protein 8g
Vitamin A 10%
Calcium 30%
Vitamin D 25%

at any rate, the cost for me at Walmart Grocery in this little town was 2.25 a carton i think. so each carton contains 64g of protein and costs 2.25. might be an alternative to other protien sources in a pinch or if you are wanting something simple. you could likely buy several at a time.

what do you think about this? i have eaten protien bars that cost nearly this much but didn't have near this protein amount in it.

perhaps i should have posted this elsewhere instead of the roid forum- sorry-

best,
Cal

sounds go to me, especially for making protein shakes. Does the chocolate have the same nutrient stats? It sweet because it has the same amount of protein as regular milk.

the taste is pretty good. i have to say. i could just drink the milk without the chocolate flavor that is fat free. i think the difference in the chocolate one is that it isn't fat free. same stats except a little fat (i mean little if i recall). i don't have the carton in front of me for the chocolate. it's in every supermarket- next time you are there take a look at the nutritional label on the cartons.

i am getting ready to start back hard and so i will be using this to aid with my bulking. maybe mixing some whey in with the chocolate milk might be good? what's the best quality/quantity whey protein out there?

thanks-
Cal

and no "artificial" molecules added? trig's, etc?
