New PR on the 5k run today!

Hi folks!

I'm 43, 5'11" @ 184 and ran 3-miles for 21 minutes and one second. Last year I got 21:13. Since last summer I kinda backed of from running save for some HIIT back in January. I picked up my running habit back in late April and have not slowed down since.

Anyway, its HOT down here in Bryan, Texas. I hafta get my butt outta bed like 6am and get to the old high school track not long after or its a no go.

I know there are a lot of you who could smoke me at the 3-mile mark, but i thought it pretty good for an old guy who has slightly above an ideal BMI.

Thanks for listening anyway.

7min mile is respectable for someone of your age, and in actual fact would put a lot of potential UK army recruits less than half your age to shame.

Good job! I haven't done a 5K in ages. Broke my ankle on a jump in the army and quit running. I miss it though.

bro thats awesome.
I have a race at the end of Sept. I'll be happy with anything sub 23:00 :worried: can only train for 9 weeks.

Thanks ya'll.

About 10-15 years ago i did a lot of distance running. One day on the Galveston seawall I chalked up 36 miles. I took a long break from running after so many years.

I wonder if cadio has 'memory'. Like "muscle memory." Ya think?

Not for me lol When I get out of it it takes me a while to get back into shape running. Ad for lifting I have decent muscle memory though. Must be a good gene here and a bad one there.

That is a great time!! You would be great at Sprint Duathlons. You ever consider doing one of those?

Well done lambster. I'm thinking of adding running to my cardio in order to keep the fat off. I hate running.
