What's up everybody. Ya'll got a new member :). A lil info about myself:

Height: 6'2"
Weight: 205
Age:19

Personal Best's
Squats: 225x4 ass to floor
Deadlifts: 315x4
Bench:255x5
Cleans:185x1
Barbell Curls: 115x6

On a side note my leg lifts are extremely small because I just started serious weightlifting after knee surgery so hopefully they'll skyrocket up =). And now for my problem. Over the last few months at college my diet has consisted mainly of fatty, fried foods. This is all well and good but my family has a history of bad cholesterol. A few weeks back I noticed that my energy was down and my pumps started getting continuously smaller and smaller. My strength steadily started to drop. Also it seems like my hands get numb much quicker than usual. I fear that these months of neglect and bad diet have severly lowered my circulation. Well after finals I'm going to the doctors to get my blood work done etc and I'm starting to run again and plan on eating a lot healthier. Actually last nite was my first time running in over a year and a half. Just curious if anyone has any experience with cholesterol and circulation some advice would be much appreciated.

welcome to the board
I cant help you with your circulation question, thats a new one to me

Welcome to the board man...
Lots of knowledgable people floating around...
Unfortunately I don't have a clue about the cholestoral thing...
I've had periods of close to a year of eating PURE shit... (i do IT work) and I don't think I have any problems such as you've listed.. Your still pretty young... I wouldn't worry about it too much.. but i definitely would get in to see a doc if its bothering you too much
Thanks

LOL... I do the same weight on my squats, my ass doesn't touch the floor, but goes beyond the plane. I just injured my knee back in July... squats are actually HELPING it.

Don't worry about the weight my man... weight doesn't mean shit to me... if I could feel like I got tackled by a tank by squatting the bar, I'd not think twice about it.

Crew,

Welcome man. I have no answer to your dilemma. I do however, believe it to be tied into possibly your diet and/or vitamin and mineral deficiency. Do you regularly take any vitamins?

Hmmm vitamins. I hadn't thought of that and I've got all these vitamins in my dorm room going to waste. It may not help my problem but it can't hurt taking em that's for sure ;)

Crew,

You never know. Lemme' know how that pans out.

Yo crew, welcome to the boards. I dont know much about cholesterol, but i have taken several nutrition classes and nutrion and behavior classes and have never heard about cholesterol levels affecting energy levels.

Is it possible you are overtraining? Or not sleeping enough? Or not eating enough? I think that would have more of an affect on your energy than cholesterol.

Unless your bad [cant remember if its the HDL or LDL] lipo protiens were getting deposited on your artery wall and not allowing enough blood through. This of course would mess with the amount of blood that could flow through and oxygen the amount of oxygen that could get through for stransport in the capilaries to the muscle cells. Hmmm, but you are pretty young for that to happen i think.

Anyway, dont know, just saying welcome.

I'm hoping I'm too young for this, but this is what I meant about the cholesterol and circulation. As far as overtraining it's possible so I had to add another day of rest. I'm doing a 2 on 2 off 2 on 2off type thingy. I'd let ya know how that's going but I've got a lot of school work this week so I'm taking it off from lifting.
