New Deadlift PR!!!!

Deciever

New member
I started off my workout with good mornings, and i didnt really feel like i wanted to do them, and i had the sudden urge to deadlift. My previous deadlift record was 335 at a contest... 315 in training.

Here's how it went.
135 x 5
225 x 1
275 x 1
315 x 1
345 x 1 PR!!!!
360 x 1 PR!!!!

345 went up without a problem, on the 360 , i may have been called for a little hitch, but i still got it up, so im happy as hell.

I also exceeded my contest goal by 10lbs, 4 weeks before the contest!! My goal was 350... so i guess i'll up that to 375 or something now.

hey congrats on your PR!
do you use baby powder on your legs when you deadlift? if you dont use it that 360 might of gone up without a hitch.
also how are you gripping the bar? (chalk or straps)

i didnt use baby powder.. i didnt even plan on deadlifting today. just spur of the moment.

I actually did use chalk and i never ever use straps. I have dry hands from lifting and bike jumping, so its like having mild amounts of chalk on all the time if i dont put moisturized on.

I definately will use baby powder at the contest, i want everything to go as smooth as possible.

IRBD, just wait until i hit a growth spurt(which i've been waiting for for the past 2 years) .... we'll have a race... i have to get to 400 before you get to 600 (you progress quicker, so im only making it fair)

Thanks Zulu

Screw that 375 lb. contest max, Deciever. Shoot for 400 lbs. If you can convince your mind that you can do it, then you can. Awesome workout! Keep us posted on your contest preparation.

that'd be huge!!! i'd finally hit my 3x BW deadlift. I'd also shatter the state record... Once i get my suit working.. and my chucks.... my numbers will increase again.

Actually, im really impressed in what westside has done for my deadlift. In about 3 weeks of good mornings, my deadlift went up 25 lbs.

I gotta concentrate on a lot of grip work too, i dont want that to be the cause of me missing a deadlift.

Good job bro...keep it up and I agree with screwball...shoot for 400!!! Im also doing GM's now for several weeks ... will see how they go ..... How heavy are your GM's?
