Whats up guys, it's been a while but believe me was I busy! So I tried out the 5x5 intermediate for 2 months, saw amazing gains in bench, squat, row, and deadlift, other lifts seem much easier too :) Though in doing the 5x5 I was preparing for a modeling gig this month, thats done and over with. I realized with the 5x5 I didnt gain size (maybe on my back) or weight. Perhaps that was from my lack of eating 3000-4000 calories per day, i basically cut down to about 2200 or lower.

*My objective is to stay lean, but bulk, like those guys you see on mens health - that's my ultimate goal, be on the cover :) Now how can I do this, which supplements should i maybe take, I have a good diet but basically i want your advice on how I can do this. Thanks alot!

*Hypertrophy training? I know in the 5x5 i've lost some size on biceps and such, but definitely pushed out the veins and made me an all around stronger guy.

I need to stay lean due to possible gigs!
 
Wonderful! Yea, i've asked these questions plenty of times, who doesnt wanna build and look nice. I've got one of those boyish model bodies with a 41 inch chest, 32inch waist, 15in biceps, which is ideal for fashion modeling, but I want to be more happy content with myself and fill in. It's started to hit the head making it hard to eat like, as you say, an 'asshole' lol, so lets see what we can do here. Thanks alot guys

You used the 5 x 5 to prep for a modeling gig? You said you lost size, how did the end result work out?

**ie also the key to staying 'lean' is diet
 
I didnt really increase size or weight at all, lost a little in the arms, but in general I obtained good strength gains!

Yes I read that. I am sorry I wasn't more specific, I was curious if you thought the 5 x 5 helped you get to where you needed to be for the shoot and/or gig.

Adding muscle with minimal fat gain is not impossible it's just difficult for a lot of people. I have no idea if you are natural, but I do think you are going to have to deal with the fact your abs may fade when bulking, your pants may get tight, your face may get chubby and you will feel bloated or somedays like a :cow:.

Then get passed it b/c you are looking to the goal which is ultimately added muscle. As far as leaning out for a 'gig' you can have a week or two or three to plan accordingly & diet for it if you have enough time with certain diet manipulations. In the end it may be counterproductive with the yo-yo cutting for work though so you're going to have to not get frustrated if things don't go your way the majority of the time. I don't know if gigs are events, shoots or both, maybe movie related etc but you may want to set aside time to do a more of a structured strength/bulk/cut phase to get to where you want to be with no distractions.
