Hey all first let me post my stats.
i am 6ft2 35years old 225lbs around 18%BF

i am in the army and just got back from iraq. i am assessing for a special ops unit on dec 10th and need to lose 25 or so lbs in 3 months. tomorrow i am starting my run program which will eventually get me up to 4 miles a day or so. what other exercises can i do to help me along the way. thanks

It's about 80% diet.

No alcohol. No pasta. No sugar (including gatorade). Drink water instead.

Something along the lines of South Beach will help.

And you can get up to 6 miles a day - maybe cross-train on bike, if you can.

Thanks for your service to our country.

ya i know diet is everything and mine sucks. beer fast food and all that shit. it is hard to give up it taste so damn good especially the sam adams light. but going to give it a try.

Clean diet is everything really....try to throw in the eliptical or cycle for cross training

The beer and junk food are killers, once your down there, you can occassionally splugre, (sp) but you don't have the same desire to eat junk.

For me, (not a healthy solution) I starve for 3 days then come back and start eat clean.

Cardio 30-60 minutes a day, weights, streatching.

it is 4 am sorry my typing is so poor.

I personally feel that slurging is a requirement from keeping you from going insane. Start off slow. Eat clean for at least four days straight. Eat what you want on the weekends. Then slowly include a fifth day. Whatever you do, don't drastically change your diet or you will fail.

Yeah, personally I feel the same way. For example, if I deplete carbs from my body instantly rather than gradually, my brain seems to go into a state of depression (lack of energy). When I used to instantly deplete carbs like 2-4 days later I was fiending for some sugar and then binged out, instantly gaining the weight back. Slowly approaching a strict diet works best for me....

lol..that says it all! running will help alot, cleaning that diet up will be your key, just get of the pure junk, keep the clean carbs and you will lean up fast.
