I'm wondering what you would call these? I was working arms yesterday and we decided to finish off our standing aternate dumbell curls like this. we did a last set where you go 1 rep left 1 rep right then 2 rep left 2 rep right 3 rep left 3 rep right all the way up to 12 rep left then 12 rep right. Total rep count on that set is 78 per arm. My arms were frickinn screaming half way through and I just barely finished these with 50's. I had the most insane pump that when I went to shower afterwards I couldnt reach my head to rub my shampoo in. Is there a name for this kind of set? We are going to incorporate these into all bodyparts for the next few weeks and see where it takes us.

Was it a regular curl, or a pinwheel curl?

I don;t know if there is a name for this type of set/rep scheme. Call it the alternating incremental repetition set. AIRS for short. ll. IDK bro  hahaha

Nope...You use the same weight throughout. Each alternateling arm basically does 1 rep then 2 total reps then 3 total reps all the way until you get to 12 total reps each arm. At the end. Each arm does 78 reps in total per set. Seriously try this out and get a major pump. I did it on lying down dumbell extentions today. great stuff.

This is some kind of rest-pause variation, it looks solid for shocking a specific bodypart. Thanks for sharing

I thought that was called pyramiding???

Regardless 78 total reps with the 50s is bad ass brother.

Same thing pretty much. Pyramiding and laddering. We might just decide to call the sets 55's when doing sets of 10's or 78's when we do sets of 12.

Yeah, I tryed this today with pinwheels, I normally use 17.5kg x 8-10 per arm for pinwheels, I tryed the 12.5kg DB's and couldnt grip the damn things any longer when I got to 8 per arm lol

On my third set of them I end up using straps for that very reason. My wrists give up before the bodypart im using usually does.

yeah my grip is pretty bad, on pinwheels though I squeeze the DB hard to help work my forearms more, this was probably why I had to drop such a light weight.
