Hey yall, I am 18 years old and live on my own. I need to come up with a diet that is high in protein so I can pack on some muscle, but my goals arent to get HUGE but to put on some nice size and get cut... but the problem is, I am still in high school and I have alot of shit to pay for, granted I am a waiter and I make pretty decent money but my rent is pretty high and so is my car insurance... so i was wondering if anyone could help me out with some products I could buy at the grocery store that arent too expensive (i.e. Tuna, Ham, etc etc) what would be a good diet to eat everyday that i could afford? Thanks for any input guys, i REALLY appreciate it.

I would think tuna/beef would be your two staple foods, I'm sure you can find a fair price for tuna and beef in bulk. For carbs you can use yams or sweet potatos, or even oatmeal, whatever is cheapest.

What kind of foods are cheapest for you? (protein wise and carb wise)

Depending on where you live, hunt around for a wholesale bulk food outlet....

.... I live in a shitty redneck mining town in the middle of the Australian desert and we've got one here, so you should have one in your city. You can save SO much!! I was blown away when I went in there and looked around. 2.2lbs of rolled oats for $1.05 (US).... quite amazing when you compare it to the prices you pay in the supermarket.

I say look around and try to find some bulk food outlets.

Don't forget about eggs, they're inexpensive as well. Tuna and eggs are probably going to be your cheapest protein sources and oatmeal and potatoes would probably be your cheapest carb sources. You cando tons of stuff with all of the above and not get sick of them.
