well i wanna put on size and muscle but also want to lose the excess fat.. and im going to join after im out of school. so im still thinking of it. but see i live with my parents so its not like i can go on an expensive diet or fancy one.. i normally work out after school for about 1 hour or so.. i used to run but i stopped. and normally i work out my upper body by doing dumbbells, curls, and benching, and chest pressing. maybe i should start running also? and i have protein powder i used to use. which is whey protein but i dont use it anymore afraid it im not working out enough and its just turning into fat.. i normally dont do a set thing i just do random upper chest stuff..
understand that the more muscle you have on your body, the more fat your body will burn.
also like i said before, there are factors outside the gym that affect the results you get inside the gym - ie eating, protein intake, sleep.
it sounds like you have the basic ideas down - training regularly, etc. it just needs some tweaking. you need to establish a workout routine. a rotation of what bodyparts you train. you want to train your entire body. for example, training legs, and back (big muscle groups) will put your body into a natural anabolic state. this means it kicks your body into growth mode. so training legs and back is important to your chest, and shoulders for example.
none of it is rocket science, but you will have a lot better success if you get some more info and establish some routines and goals.
you should start using your protein again. protein is what your muscles need to grow. if you arent putting enough in your body, you can not grow. you will find that you work out and 3 days later you are still sore. that is probably more a lack of protein than anything.
your diet doesnt have to be expensive. oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potatoes, red potatoes are all pretty inexpensive sources of complex carbs. protein is a little more expensive. chicken breast, tuna, eggs are probably the cheapest.
i think you should spend some time educating yourself more. if you can think of a topic, it has probably been discussed on EF. you are too young to be using AAS and can actually really do some damage to your body by doing so. So dont even spend time reading that info.
Instead read the diet and the lifting sections of EF. you will get real world info that you can apply yourself.
there is an ebook that I was just reading today that is a great resource as well. It is free and you can download it at the guys website at losefatandgainmuscle.com
It gives you the info that you need on workout routines, diet, how many calories to eat, how to do certain exercises... literally everything you will need to know.
I actually suggest that you start there and read it first and then come back to EF and use the site to fill in the gaps and get tips from time to time.
I would be interested to hear your progress on things too.
Make sure when you are doing this that you get into the mindset of enjoying it. It isnt something that you
have to do. It should be something you
want to do.
An interesting fact - for every 1 hour you spend in the gym, you add 2 hours to your life.
