need help guys - seriously

Damn you are a good bro... Ya i'd definitely see a doctor. If it doesn't "hurt" that badly and no strength loss I couldn't see it being way too detrimental, but im no doctor.

Sorry bro, I thought you said something about some substantial bruising. Hmmm, maybe your sprained your forearm flexer(s)-if thats what it's called??? I sprained my pec once. Didn't feel it until the day after, but man it fucking hurt. You could possibly have strained it, or even possibly a small tear. If bruising doesn't start to discolor, and sweeling reduces, etc... def. see a doc. My aunt sprained her ankle once bowling. It did not get better, and by week two she dropped dead. No joke. A blood clot formed, etc... She was a smoker tho. Hope this helps.

You did the right thing. That kid is probably grateful that you were there. If you would have went to get help first, he probably would have some serious damage to his hand.
Your arm sounds like it hurts pretty bad. It's probably swelling more than anything. But if the pain is real bad, go see a doctor. If you aren't one to abuse pain meds then by all means, take whatever he gives you until the pain goes away. Sounds nasty. I would go either way, just to make sure there's no problem.

Again, good thing you did bro. We all complain about guys like that in the gym who don't know what they are doing and how they are distracting. We were all newbies once. Maybe more of us should take time to help others. I remember something similiar happened to me when I was 18. My first time in a big commercial gym and I didn't know the olympic bar was 45lbs. I overloaded it, and got trapped doing close grip presses. A guy who looked like a vet came and helped me get it up and then without making me feel stupid helped me load a lighter weight on and then helped me with my set. If it weren't for him I probably would have been to embaressed to go back there again.

Besides all of that, how is the cycle going so far?

Here's the thing - there is no bruise - and it doesn't hurt too bad (just when I press on it) - it's just swollen like a sprained ankle, and where it's swollen, it's red in color, - not bad, just a little red. I can press my finger into my wrist, (away from the point of injury) and the skin doesn't pop back, (just like when someone retains water)

It's just REALLY weird - it's full of fluid, but I could definitely go workout.

What causes that much fluid buildup - is it some sort of sprain inside the forarm?

Could be a big hematoma forming. Had the same thing on my leg with my hiking accident last year.

Suggestion: bucket of ice water - think "slushy". Submerge that arm for as long as you can, probably 2-3 minutes to start. Take out; lather, rinse, repeat for 15 minutes. Keep up the alleve. Don't worry about much else (don't think in terms of flexibility/moving it for a day or two) initially.

Monitor carefully, consider a doc. If you decide to stick with the "self-repair" course, at least get to a Licensed Massage Therapist, and get a light massage done.

Good luck bro.

Sounds like white blood vessels that pooled in there when an atrophy happens, go to the doc in a day or so if the swelling is still major.

Thanks bro

just out of curiosity -why the "lather"????

no need to see a doc in this situation(if it's what it sounds like). If you have any considerable pain from pressure or rotation of you forearm in two-three days then take that thing to a doctor. For now though just keep up with the aleve for another day then try some muscle creams if any slight pain still exists.

Sorry - shorthand from my other life. "Lather, rinse, repeat" is from the shampoo bottle, and represents any process that requires repetition of the same steps to reach the goal.
