magic vs lakers...

i love how the lebron/kobe commercials are still going on. they should have one where dwight beats the shit out of lebron while lebron is bitching his ass off

anyways, i think the magic have finally gained people's respect after beating (clearly) the 2 best teams the east had to offer (besides themselves). People have been saying LA will clean the floor with them, but i expect the series to go 6 or 7 games with the lakers winning. I don't think orlando has what it takes to beat them, but i won't be surprised if they do.

Magic swept the Lakers during the season.

If the Lakers actually play like the did on Friday night itll be a squeaker. Magic overall have the better team and better bench...it'll help if Turkoglu is dropping his shots, though.
 
the only way the magic are winning is if howard stays out of foul trouble...... howard generated at least 65% of the points the magic scored yesterday and allowed the magic to have flawless ball movement. If he is not in the game 40+ minutes they will not win

the lakers are smart; they will drive at howard all fucking night and draw fouls on him... if they do this successfully i think they have the series

yesterday....

they have balanced scoring and have had it all season, so to inflate a statistic based on 1 game is silly.

Both teams have depth, both teams have versatility...it'll be a good series.

The difference is that the lakers bigs are soft...and the magic rely heavily on 3 point shooting.

howard is kind of soft himself. Yeah he'll get up for those big thunderous dunks, but he doesn't have the lower body to be a "real" big. That's why Perkins and Davis "dominated" him despite giving up 3-4 inches..........those guys "got ass"...lol. Howard go no ass and no legs. When you're a "big" in basketball, you gotta have that football OL/DL mentality. He doesn't have that...........but neither do the Lakers big's so it's a wash. But on the defensive end he's a beast.

They have impressed me this post season. Throw away the Celts win though, cause they were like half a team. But yeah, they done good. Their playoff run is over, however.
 
Did any of you guys even watch basketball this year?

It is going to be hard for the lakers to win the series. They are shallow on the bench and are horrible at defending the perimeter. Plus Jameer Neelson might actually be able to play in the finals. In which case, the lakers are double screwed.

agreed... but holy shit man!!!!!! you're joking about nelson aren't you? i HIGHLY DOUBT he will play in the series even if he feels up to it.. sure he can be "better" but he hasn't been on the court in many months and to put him in for alston (who has had great moments) is just stupid. anyways, as long as howard doesn't get into foul trouble i think orlando can win the series.

don't forget that the series goes 2-3-2... so i think that if orlando splits in LA, they have a great shot at winning the series. They get 3 at home, and if it's 1-1, they need to go 2-1 vs LA at home (which they are capable of doing) and if they go to LA up 3-2, i think they have a damn good shot

here is what i think is going down; LA wins the first 2, then magic win game 3, LA game 4, orlando game 5 and the lakers win the 6th

whoever said the magic matchup well against the lakers is right.

For everyone here who was talking about howard vs gasol (myself included i think lol) bynum is the center and gasol is the PF. Bynum is a little softy out of high school; he doesn't have shit on dwight howard.

yes, gasol has a great post game vs hedo... but on the other hand hedo will draw gasol on the perimeter.... and work into howard on bynum, draw the double, open the 3 (similar to the cavs having no ability to cover the 3)

Lewis is better than ariza.. nough said. Ariza has been playing clutch defense, but lewis has really been on fire lately. He is damn consistent i like him a fuck of a lot.

Kobe vs Lee.. Lee does start over pietrus, although it seems pietrus gets more minutes and plays great defense. he did a fantastic job on lebron in game 6, but kobe will be kobe regardless of who is covering him in this series and he will blow the fucking roof off.

Fisher vs Alston.. 2 pretty experienced guards... i think fisher is a little better, but hell if alston is hitting shots is is hitting a lot of them.

Howard causes problems for any team that doesn't have an unbelievable post defender. If you are telling me bynum or even gasol will cover howard, then you have got to be shitting me. They will draw the double, leaving someone open for a 3, and if they try zone, well good luck it will be raining fucking 3s. EVery singl player in the magic's lineup can hit a 3, and they go deeeeep into the bench. If Orlando can work the ball around vs LA like they did vs CLE they can win this series and i really hope they do.

oh and i can't forget odom... he is so fucking good, really love that guy if i were LA i would start him at PF to cover hedo and move gasol to C.

can't wait to see this series.

EDIT: i'd love to see jameer nelson come back this series. He was the leader of this team on the court when he was healthy, but i don't think he will play like he did when he was playing at his best.

it was damn hard for LA to win that game. If the magic were more consistent in the first half they would have won the game; key words are would have, so yeah my prediction so far is okay. Magic win next game, then LA, Orlando, LA wins 6

if the lakers win even 1 of the next 3 in orlando .. its simply over .. no way orlando can win a game 6 &7 in LA back to back ..
 
Damn, Lee could of pretty much won the finals with that layup, now he pretty much blew it. How bout that

Sure Magic were hot from the perimeter but they only went 5/14 from the 3point range. They still have room to improve and i dont think they played their best game yet.

i can only see them winning if the lakers play terrible or go into a slump.

when both teams play at their best , lakers are a MUCH better team!!
 
Im just sayin that cause I hate the lakers...although I do agree they are the better team


now if Jameer Nelson had never of gotten hurt and was playing at 100% things may be a bit different


but then again if KG was healthy Orlando would not have got past the celtics so the point is moot

Nah they probably wont shoot a better FG% but if they can get around 13-14 3points and shoot between 46-50% FG or higher they will be fine. The game yesterday proved that they played bad defensively because offense was definately not the problem
