Natural Potential

New member
How do you know when you've reached your natural upper limit for size? I'm 5'9" 180lbs - dont think I've reached it by any means but when will you know? I hear guys saying wait until you hit a final platau before you do any AS - but when will you know?

You might never really know for sure... Majority of the peole who use AS never did reach there natural potential. The way I would do it(If I could turn back time) would be to have a good understanding of weight training and nutrition. Then understand that your body needs proper rest to grow. After understanding all of that make sure you find a program that works best for you, and take it as far as you can. IT COMES DOWN TO A GUT FEELING! Just remember if you stop growing take a look at your Nutrition, Rest, and training habits and see if there is anything you can aprove on before turning to steriods. I don't know if I really answered your question:D Maybe someone else will have better insight on it.

Im just curious to know how long it takes to reach youre full potential, I have heard different things from different people....

Some say that it can take anywhere from 6-10 years to reach youre bodies natural fullest potential..

Im curious as to what some of the Mods and Vets would say about this though.....

when you plateau you shouldnt make any more strength gains at 1 to 1 1/2 months of doing the same weight usually means you've hit some type of plateau

i kinda agree with ninja. It all depends, you have to want to get big, and be really pumped to find your limit. I remembered my limit was only 175, and couldn't reach it again after that, cause the motivation wasn't there, unless I did juice, now I'm passed it. I couldn't get back up to max cause I wasn't as psych about it like before. SO if you are natural and really want to get big and are not gaining anything after a month or two, and have been changing your routine I say your maxxed

one more thing, I didn't stay at the max point for longer then 5 weeks. It is very hard to maintain, hard lifting everytime and pigging out on clean cals. I don't think I could stay at that point without needing a break if all natural, eventually it catches up to me, may be different for other people

Natural Potential vs. time

My thought are this...

You are right bsjohnson most people start using gear before reaching their natural potential, but that is not necessarily bad or the wrong way to go about it...
Think of it this way, if you start working out at 16 and start using gear at 18-yeah not only have not reached your natural potential you have also probably not finished growing either. However if you start working out at 20 and start taking gear at 24 lets say, you may not have reached your natural potential, but you may be close enough where the time it takes you to reach that goal will be after where you can make the most use of it...What I mean is that it is all well and good to reach your natural potential, but how fullfilling is it at 30 or 35. NOT TO SAY THAT YOU ARE OLD AT 35-but just to say that if you wanted to start taking gear to get huge maybe you start before you reach that natural plateu so that you have time to get as big as possible before the natural aging process fully takes its effect...Now that definitely depends on who you are and your genetics and your work ethic and your eating habits and your leisure time and so many other things that you may never really be able to tell and you will just have to go with your gut feeling.

Hope that doesn't confuse the shit out of everybody...

The whole good genetics thing is interesting - I think I have good genetics - it was always easy to get bigger - It will be interesting to see how far I can take it.
