My Wife Wants a Maid And She Don't Work...

Gymgurl said:
I think this issue can vary from couple tp couple and woman to woman. I never thought I would stay at home.
Me neither.

But when I had kids I thought staying home with them was WAY more important than making money. I have never missed anything (first words, first steps, school functions) due to a JOB. This is my choice and is not one for every woman. My agreement with my husband is that I will do all the household stuff if I am not working. Raising them with my values and morals and not the day cares is what is best.....
Word. I don´t wanna miss first steps either :) I´m considering to stay at home at least until baby is three years old.
I´m also considering to go to study again after that. I hope that I can arrange studies so that I can be at home as much as possible.
Btw, in Finland mothers get paid for taking care of teir babies at home. I get 70%-80%
what I got when I worked.

Velvette,

What I was saying about her getting a job is that she would only make minimum wage unless she got real lucky. I am not a total sexist pig you know. :D

Also we worked it out. I told her me and the kids would start picking up after ourselves more and she said she would see if we did and if we did we could drop the maid discussion.

You should pick up your own shit anyway.

Nice resolution.
She was probably not feeling appreciated for what she was doing around the house.

I must say I hate house cleaning (especially toilets - ACK - laundry I actually enjoy) and while I'd love not to do it, I'm too cheap and self-conscience to pay someone else to do it for me.

Don't get me wrong if my wife had a job that made money I wouldn't be so pissed about this but yesterday she insisted she wanted to hire a maid. And I said babe your job is being the maid and then we got in a big fight about my motorycles and stuff. I said I make money which I choose to spend on my motorcycles. If you made money you could choose to spend it on a maid. But since you don't, it is your job 8to5 to do the housework. AM I wrong?

Tell her to shit in one hand, and want in the other, see which one fills up first...

My ex-wife was like that... Hence the 'ex' precursor...

Well, the kids are 12 & 18 right? If so, they should be cleaning their own rooms & be picking up their own stuff. The 18 yo should also do all her own laundry, if she's at home & not going away to college. There is no reason the 2 kids cannot learn some responsibility.....

Glad to hear it worked out....

Tell her you want a girlfriend, or at least a smokin hot maid to whom you can smack her ass every time she passes by. That outta shut her up.

glad to see that you found a resolution. kids at any age should clean up after themselves. its all part of making the mess. i was doing my own laundry at 4 yrs old. i pissed the bed- i clean the sheets. might as well throw in some clothes too. if my room wasnt clean, i couldnt hang out in the neighboorhood. after dinner, we all helped out clean, because we all ate the food. if she does not have the option to find a job that would pay decent, then she does not have much choice but to stay at home. unless of course she wants to have a minumum wage job. its hard to make a call on this, but i would appriciate it if my housewife (dont have one) would dust and vacume. everything else is a burden on the house as a whole. on top of that, she would have to have a hobby, and one that didnt involve her sitting on her ass in front of a tv. i dont care what. an idle mind will waste away in few years.

WHoa.

12 & 18.

Yah, I totally agree they should be cleaning up after themselves.

A few weeks before my 11th b-day my mother snapped, pointed me in to the direction of the washer dryer in basement and told me to do my own laundry or walk around naked. I know I was vacuuming, dusting and cleaning my own bedroom and bath prior to that and if it wasn't up to my mother's standards she would put everything out the closets, draws, bookcases and tell me to start over. *shutter* Mommie Dearest flashback

Hire a big titted French maid who shows her thong underwear when she bends over.

You both win.
