my shoulder hurts

This really sucks! Any press exercise I do wreaks havoc on my right shoulder. Bench press, Incline press, Decline press, and Military press all make my shoulder feel like its on fire. It feels like a sharp pinch in the muscle when I press up. I can kind of do bench if I bring my grip in but it still bothers me. Any free weights like incline dumbbells ( which is my favorite lift of all time) is now out of the question. Are there any supplements I can take to help alleviate the pain? Any exercises I can do to maybe strengthen my shoulder so it wont hurt anymore?
 
is it the muscle itself or a joint or rotator cuff? where does it hurt? if it's a joint, use MSM gluccosamine and chond.
 
I believe its the muscle itself thats what it feels like. Its like a pinch on my outer delt not sure whats anterior or posterior. What is MSM and chond? Can you buy that stuff at the drug store?

ice it, but you should go see doctor to make sure you do not have something seriously wrong with your shoulder. could be tendonitis or bursitis, but please see physician and find out for sure

will do. Should I go see my normal family practice physician or is there a specialist you recommend.

sounds like an impingment, dont waste time with a familiy doc see a sports med guy
 
mine started about the same way .. 1 year ago.. just had impengement surgery on jan. 10 .. recovery is tough.. i still have some tendonitis in it.. have it checked for sure.. the sooner the better..the ortho doc also recomended me taking glucosamine/chondroitin......

you can get msm, chondrointon, glucosamine from anywhere basically, eckerds, wallmart, any supplement store will have combos of those three in capsules or caps
 
good advice on the ice it, rest it... don't do whatever aggrevates it for a week or 2.

Make sure you're stretching your chest out well after a solid bench workout.

Use close grip and tuck your elbows into your lats.... it's been a rotator saver for me, and my chest development is just fine (I exclusively close grip bench).


Summary...

Ice
Time off from the lifts that bother it
Stretching, lots of it... in all directions

Seek medical advice if nessesary
 
Sarge makes some good suggestions. It sounds to me like you have unbalanced shoulder development. You need to stretch out your shoulders. Stretch your pecs, and get one of those Shoulderhorns. www.shoulderhorn.com

I'm using one, and it is helping out slowly but surely.
 
you should talk to a orthopedic surgeon about cortisone or a clavical resection.
 
the term "fire" on your first post concerns me

thats what it felt like when I tore a muscle yet was still able to work out to a degree

better get it checked out
