My New Swaining Partner

So I rescued this little guy today. He is my new swaining partner. He will be "bulking" over the next year or two...his goal is to break 200 pounds, he is 6 months old and has hit about 80 pounds so i would say he is doing well. Judging by the pound of food he ate with a can of wet mixed in and a bunch of biscuits, he is on the swain plan.

He will also be training with me, and by that I mean he will eat grass and sleep while I run. Spatts suggested I attach a sled harness to him, but I think he might eat the sled so that is a no go.

Anyway here is Czar (tsar) Ivan IV.....or just czar, he is a 6 month old apricot english mastiff, early christmas present for my fiancee, and general eating, crapping and sleeping machine

Mastiff's are great swainers. My mom put out a 25lb bag of food in an automatic feeder for the 6 she has....and it was gone in a day.

Here is Molly at about 8-10 weeks old.

And here is Suzy at 2 years old...she is another accomplished swainer...

Saving a dog from the rescue shelter and giving it a good home is a noble thing. Good luck to the three of you.

thats a cute puppy............. my cats not as big, but she sure is mean as the dickens i bet she could out fight you pup though....lol

She's around 7 months now and about 45lb. She eats everything. And I mean everything.

my family's last two dogs were rescues. Unfortunately at 12 years old, one is on its way out. The other is 3, two of the best dogs in the world. Other than escaping the yard and strolling through the town. the 3 year old ( english pointer mix ) has to sleep on you at night. not next to you, on you.

cute puppy. my family has a 6 yr old husky, and we had two before him. All three have put in some solid hours pulling the sled

i have 2 swaining partners..both apbt's that one is grown and 45lbs and the other is 11mos and 95lbs....keep me broke from food..they eat as much rice as i do...love boiled eggs too

I tried attaching my Pit-lab to the sled with a harness, but he refused to pull it, he just laid down (reminded me a lot of some of my former training partners). He did do some backwards drags by spinning around and biting the sled rope and shacking his head .
