I didn't do shit. All I did was not get my sales quota for two months in a row. They gave me one warning only. They gave me no training. I learned as I go. No training at all. I was put in a very bad position from the start. I guess a part of me wanted to leave the company because I was begining to hate my job, and that's why I went down without a fight.

Plus, in Canada, unless you're in a union, they can pretty much let you go just like that.

Just to add to AAP's post I had a bro who I did my MBA with and he is Muslim and his wife got canned from her job while others got promoted and it was because she was a Muslim. He called me and asked for legal advice. I told him to get everything documented on why she was getting fired. They gave her totally BS reasons. She got another job real quick so they didn't sue but they should have.

Discrimination happens all the time. Heck, I'm white and I have faced discrimination by racist peeps. If you think there is even an a small amount of racism involved talk to an attorney up there and see what they say.

I sww it a mile away when he was looking to hire an old employee back and when he gave me the first warning. I'm a little confused, because by virtue of it being a first warning, there should be a second and a third, no?

He casually said: ''we have decided to let you go..."

I saw it coming, and I kinda hoped it would come because I was getting tired of my monotonous job, yet I still feel kinda disappointed and frustrated.

Anyways, back to looking for a job now. meh.

I HOPE you just looked at him and said " LOL, RAWR" and handed him a pic of yourself.... :-)

I don't think there is any form of discrimintation, and I don't want to get the company in any trouble. I would feel like shit if I got the company in any trouble over nothing. I have all the assets to find a good job and I have the skills neccessary to make it work.

Looking for excuses to why I failed / was laid off is reaching....the decision was unfair and I deserved better....but to say it is discrimination because I'm muslim is asking for preferential treatment...I'm just like anybody else.....and will not stoop down to the level of using the race card to score a few extra bucks....

Thanks for your advice though bro....it is apreciated :)

Not sure how Canada is, but that is all you need here to file discrimination.

I worked in Motorola HR for 6 years. I can tell you the shit that goes on in HR departments... well it is amazing that any business around is still operating and sued to death.

If they gave you a warning one time - written, verbal, or telepathically relayed to your dead aunt to tell you through the Ouija board - they are SUPPOSE (here, not sure of up there) to provide you with additional counseling/training to ensure you succeed. For instance you cuss out a customer on the phone, bing! mandatory phone etiquette classes. You grab a female coworkers ass - oohhhh free doughnuts in the sexual harassment awareness course.

For real, it is 10x harder to legitimately fire an employee for common violations nowdays than ever before. You got to do something really really stupid or really really violent to get fired and not have a strong case.

That varies state to state. You can fire anyone here for any reason other than their race, religion, etc.

Good luck finding a job dude.
