My first call!

You do it to save people, not things. Ive never cared about stuff, I've just always cared about people. The man's grandbabies were in the house with him, he had a Harley in the garage, he stood there and watched it burn, as it burned up he turned to me, pointed at his 4 year old granddaughters and said that's what is important, that's what I'm happy got saved, everything else can be replaced.

You will be called upon to save things at your own personal risk

Yes. That was explained to me. But some things are important to people. Heirlooms, pictures.

Yeah, unfortunately assessing the value of property before putting yourself at risk isn't in the equation of your duty.

I'm glad their are people like yourself that will take that risk.

cool story...glad the dog made it..it helps and obviously glad the entire family made it out..its a terrifying experience because it moves so fast and more or less quietly besides the snapping and popping and dull roar. Its hard to judge how close it is.

when they realize every piece of their life history is gone..they'll be a bitter about it

for instance if one more person tells me "its just stuff" I may actually punch them out then ask them to replace my babies newborn caps and going home outfits while they lay on the ground bloodied

jus sayin

That's one thing I try to avoid saying. Because to me its just stuff, but to them, its exactly what you're saying, all their babies "firsts", wedding pictures, pictures of childhoods they will never see again. I really wouldn't want someone to say that to me.

I'm knot saying "stuff" ain't important, I've lost most of my personal history to floods

I'm saying "stuff" isn't as valuable as human life

just sayin'
