Fuck yea, my two favorite things in the trauma rooms are a cracked chest and an emergency crike. It's been awhile since I've had both on the same patient. Last time was a marine that just returned home and his dryer blew up cooking over 90% of his body. He started with peripherals and ended up with a femoral central line, arterial line, emergency crike since his airway completely closed up then cracked his chest as a last ditch effort

Anything running off 220 has enough voltage to arc out and fry the fuck out of you. All it takes is a bad ground or exposed wire

No idea, we actually had the FBI questioning all the staff the following week. It was a gas dryer with an apparent leak and he was smoking.

It really is amazing how random a lot of traumas are. Being exposed to it for as long as I have has made much more careful in a lot of things I do.

My house doesnt have gas, but cant you fucking smell a leak? Dont they put some kind of chemical in natural gas now that makes it detectable??

I know propane smells strong as hell when it is leaking....thats a scary smell in a house thats burning......

gas dryers are amazing...we put electric back in because of venting logistics and I hate it by comparison

maybe the dude had no sense of smell...I know a shitload of vets that don't anymore because their sinuses got cooked from burning pollutants in the sandbox

its all human beings I just think cops get jaded earlier in their careers because no one does ever thank them...don't think the blue canaries aren't valuable too tho
