My dog was hit by a car today

Sorry to hear :(

Dont rush into getting a new dog, take your time and shop around. Make sure you get a good one. But yea, absolutely you should get a new one if thats what your kids want.

My kids are asking if they can have another dog, I just don't know if I want to go though this again in the future. My kids are learning how to deal with death, something I learned early on, as a kid. My dad used to just kill my dogs for fucking, no good reason. I would find most of my dogs shot in the head, down this old gravel road. My dad would usually denied it, but we were the only ones living close by and the bullit shells were from his riffle. My grandpa would just get me another one.

I would have killed this fucker in his sleep. I hit my old man with a barbell while he was sleeping when I was 7 for throwing a shoe at our dog.. if I would have been older and stronger I would have killed him. I have more compassion for dogs than humans.

I know what your going through theres something they have that no human has to offer and its very hard when they go.
I lost my little guy and girl a few yeas back the boy when I was at my parents place in Vt. wen't after a rabbit (he was always tracking and catching animals when we were up there...the previous night he had killed a skunk without even getting sprayed...the thing had his collar in its mouth when I found it.
anyway he sprinted after the rabbit and the thing darted straight for the highway not quite a 1/4 mile away they both were killed by a truck that didn't even stop...when I brought his body back to the house after trying to revive him and put him on the ground next to the house his sister ran up and after a couple minutes it was like i could see some of her spark drain out of her...she was never the same and actually died six months later.

i have a great new shepard pit mix that always reminds me of her
and she is a great joy and source of stress relief for me, i found her starved and covered with mange on broadway, but now shes one of the most beutiful and attentive dogs i have ever knon.

its a lot to go through proper training, grooming, medical checklups and loss but the benefits are worth it to me

I feel your pain and am sorry for your loss
best of health and happiness to you freind....

My dog dying would devastate me more than most of my family members. She actually was hit by a car, but luckily, I found her soon after and took her to a pet emergency room and she made a full recovery. It was the most heart wrenching time of my life...

I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure he/she was a great dog.

I would rather loose a family member than a dog.
I am soo sorry for you man... this shit depresses me.

I am sorry.

You must either have some awesome dogs or some shitty family members.

All dogs are awesome.. in one way or another.

Mine are VERY awesome.

Damn straight. You'll never get a dog that betrays you, if you treat him/her right, unlike many girls that I've known...

As a matter of fact, I've never seen a human with as much loyalty as a dog gives. I love dogs...everything about em!
