For some reason it seems distasteful to me. And I have no idea why.
I'm normally long-term. Maybe it's the idea of buying something you know you'll sell quickly. Its definitely an emotional response. Being the capitalist pig I am it shouldn't bother me one iota.
Especially when back in the day my partner and I were pulling in an average of $40k a house. Some we made over $180k, rare but there were one every 5 or 6. It was too much fun. And we took real shitty houses and made them nice. Not just some paint and cleaning the carpet. We would make it a real home! And that made it not so bad. The toughest part was getting the bank to understand we could come in and blow out a house in 3-5 weeks and have it on the market and in escrow in 6-8 weeks making that much money. Appraisers knew what we were putting into the house so the appraisel wasn't a problem. These houses were bad no one would touch them. That is why we could get them so cheap. The banks would drop the asking price because they were so discusting. I can't believe a bank rep. would even walk into some of them. Doppers crapped in the sinks when the water was shut off. Just dirty! We never took any before/after pics because of liability. But it was fun!
