My back is weaker than my chest

I can press so much more weight on a flat bench with DB's than I can doing one arm DB rows. Is anybody else this way also?
 
Are you doing deadlifts?

I don't think those two exercises are a great comparison for strength from front to back.

Your back has to be stronger, it is more muscle groups.

It may be your lats are weaker than your chest.
 
One arm dumbell rows are more of an isolation exercise for the mid and lower lats, bent over barbell rows would be a better judge of back strength. An easy one would be max press ups vs max pull ups on a smith machine bar (like a reverse barbell row) both bodyweight and similar movements.
 
ive heard this one for a balance check... you should be able to do as many pullups as you can do bodyweight bench reps. if not your unbalanced and might have an injury due to it. but thats just what ive read before
 
Hmm, I think I could probably do as many pull ups as body weight bench presses.

I love to deadlift. That is my most powerful lift, so I'm fine there. However, at the moment i'm not deadlifting since I'm on Omega's workout. I guess I'm just comparing the wrong thing. However, when I would do bent over barbel rows, I was way weaker on that as well.

Thats not a good measurment at all.... most guys who weight 230+ lbs cant do over 8-10 reps on chins but can bench well over 300lbs for sets of 10 reps.
 
I can rep 140db's no problem on rows but struggle with just 100lb dbs on bench.
 
Having a good grip on heavy weighted DB for rows can pose a problem. I can't hold the DB long enough to get in enough reps, so I have to use grip straps to do DB rows.
 
I usually use straps anyway just so i can focus on my back more. My grip isint exactly weak either i train it on other days.
 
try 2 back days for every chest day

like upper/middle/traps back

and lats/biceps

or somethin like that
 
well if your on omega's program you're struggling with 40 lb db right now! lol Just like me! I'd say if you're doing the same weight for each set with one arm rowns and the incline presses you should be good!

I am doing back twice for every chest workout, Omega's First split.

I hope my body starts adapting fast.
