it does something like 'balances the intestinal flora' or something.
all i know is that your body needs the acidopholous that's naturally in yogurt. you can get it in pill form, or in a liquid that tastes very much like yogurt anyway, but just eating a container or two of yogurt a day will work.

Antibiotics kill the intestinal flora.
Avoid yogurt (dairy will give u more diarrhea) and avoid Immodium. What you need is to take 6 billion units of probiotics 2 x a day for a a week.
The diarrhea is caused by the killing of the flora and the overgrowth of yeast

Which anti-biotic(s) did they give you? I have had chronic sinus infections for the past three years, and I have been amazed that doctors do NOT do cultures of your nasal passages and sinuses to target a specific bug.

I had to see an ENT three times before he thought it was a good idea to see what bugs were actually there causing the problems.

If your doc is really on top of the game, he would have told you to take acidopholis and or active culture yogurt concurrent with your ant-s.

Also, theywould have let you know that fungus and viral problems are often at the root of "sinus infections"

i got biaxin. iv had recurring "sinus infections" or ear infections, or bronchitis probably around 4 or 5 times in the past year (since freshmen year college).

i should probably see an ent, i needed to see one about getting my tonsils out because they are too big and apparently dont let my ears drain properly so i get infections easy
