Which anti-biotic(s) did they give you? I have had chronic sinus infections for the past three years, and I have been amazed that doctors do NOT do cultures of your nasal passages and sinuses to target a specific bug.

I had to see an ENT three times before he thought it was a good idea to see what bugs were actually there causing the problems.

If your doc is really on top of the game, he would have told you to take acidopholis and or active culture yogurt concurrent with your ant-s.

Also, theywould have let you know that fungus and viral problems are often at the root of "sinus infections"

Best of luck with this
yup/ did you ever get cured? i was on a long course of anti-b's for chronic sinusitis too (like 6 -8 weeks or something) and months of expensive prescription decongestants only to find out i dont have sinusitis. i have Laryngopharyngeal Reflux causes the same symptoms.

Antibiotics kill the intestinal flora.
Avoid yogurt (dairy will give u more diarrhea) and avoid Immodium. What you need is to take 6 billion units of probiotics 2 x a day for a a week.
The diarrhea is caused by the killing of the flora and the overgrowth of yeast

yogurt will not give him more diarrhea.
it replenishes that flora.

Bottom Line: Vanilla-flavored yogurt containing active bacterial cultures effectively decreases the incidence and duration of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Patients should be told to consume yogurt that contains active cultures. If they cannot find it, physicians should consider prescribing probiotic agents. (Level of Evidence: 2b)
yep. I think most store bought yogurt has active cultures in it, doesnt it?

yes, it does. i don't know what yogurt doesn't, but maybe the kid type or that "yogurt in a tube" shit or frozen yogurt.
regular yogurt is perfect though.
