Muscles aren't tight?

Anyone else have this problem? They feel and look good but the muscles aren't tight but my body fat is very low. Am I not doing enough weight or enough reps? Am I not getting enough rest? protein? Anyone else experience this? Please share if so. 6'2", 206lbs.

muscle "tightness" or hardness isnt reflective of sleep, protein intake, reps or whatever you want. if your BF is low, theres a high chance its genetical. maybe it has something to do with how blood saturates your muscle, or the structure of your muscle fibers. who knows. but- if they look and feel good, and youre making solid gains, who gives a shit bro. the weights cant tell ;)

dude I find that my muscle hardness varies a LOT. When I start up after a layoff everything is full but soft. After 1-2 months it's pretty rock-solid

I'd say train with lower rep ranges if you aren't already and this is very important to you.

Well I have cheated the last couple of days but slowed the cardio down to almost a halt, b/c I would sweat so badly in the shed I workout in. I figured with the workout plus walking/running I'd lose a good bit of fat but also some muscle. So I decided to just eat a little more and lift heavier. I'm just having problems filling out. I dont' want to BULK but just get my muscles a little firmer. I am going to try the 5x5 system and lift heavy for a month or so and see what happens. Maybe throw in a burnout or drop set in the end of each muscle workout. I get great pumps don't get me wrong but the next day or two I feel just flabby and my muscles aren't like they were.

Low BF = hardness, no two ways about it. It doesn't matter which workout program you go on, you need a damn low bodyfat to get what you want. Tinkering with sodium intake and carbs can also help.

You shouldn't be losing muscle if you keep your protein intake high and you don't overdo it by doing too much cardio. Yeah, you make look smaller, but that's the fat coming off.
