Anything i know about neurosurgery is concerning the back and spine. I dont know much when it comes to intracranial stuff. But the nose is a common entry point and it isnt as bad as it sounds.
They can go in the nose or thru the roof of the mouth. They were going to do that for my tumor but it was on the Stalk. They would have to go thru the skull (a 2" hole above the eye ) . They said as long as medication is doing the job why go through with it. I agreed. So I'm on meds for it.
Coincidentally, today i had a 24 y/o girl come to our clinic and she had a pituitary tumor removed via intranasal approach also, and she was on other meds to supplement. She had to be very careful with her electrolytes and overhydration.....known as diabetes insipidus So ask your doc if you will be on other meds even if you have the surgery.
Came back yesterday from hospital the op went quite well was not in pain after tue the op was done on mon.Will do a blood test next week to see how my hormones are doin
