Mr. X - Question

On www.exrx.net I checked the calorie requirement calculator, because I was curious. It came out to 3016 calories.

On other sites (non-workout or workout related) I've checked, and found I need only about 2500 calories a day. Now, is it that workout sites "overshoot" your requirement, to make certain you get what you need?

I'm 6', 165 lbs, 15 years old. I'm bulking now, but I want to avoid excess fat (or most of it) if possible. Some is okay, I suppose... but will I not gain any muscle size and/or strength if I burn more calories than I consume? Or will it just not be optimal?

Well, if you're trying to gain muscle I would shoot for weight x 20 in calories. Realistically, since you're 15, you can eat the "see-food-diet" where you can eat everything you see for at least 2-3 months. Then go back to leaning out. LIke the Anabolic/Catabolic Diet.
