You don't let him on the table, period. Whenever he goes there you put him down on the floor while saying "no," firmly (don't shout). Ideally, if you see him starting to jump up you startle him in mid jump with a noise, a loud hissing sound works best. Cats REALLY hate the sound of canned air. You don't want to shoot it at them but that's the type of sound you're trying to emulate. Works better than coins in a can or a water pistol.
As for eating what they shouldn't ... cats can be mouthy when they're young, like puppies, they (usually) outgrow it, but not always. I have one that's over four years old who is very affectionate and the way she expresses it is gentle chewing and licking.
