what kind of bow do you shoot?

i'm looking to get a PSE, you know anything about them? i think so far i have it nailed down to the Team Primos Bow, The Firestorm LC, or the Stingray.

whats your opinion on short a to a lenghts vs long 36"+ a to a lenghts

I.B.O. Speed: 300 fps
Axle-to-axle: 30"

Let-off: 80% (adj. to 65%)

Stingray
w/Lightning Cam

Brace Height: 7-1/4"

The longer the axel length the more forgiving.
The more the riser slops forward the more forgiving - the riser comes out infront of the limbs ro towards the limbs.
The higher the the let off the more kentic energy you lose.

PSE are good bows.
Any of the big players will have a quality product.
Myself I lean towards Hoyt.

i think i'm leaning towards the stingray, at 32" its not as short as the firestorm, and not as long as the team primos 38", allowing me more room to move in the stand. i'll just hve to practice my form a little more.

I took a comp. bow and broke it down and had it camoed up.
Why because it is so forgiving.

I'm shoooting 43 inches with a total forward riser and recurved limbs. I want all the breaks I can get.

I look at the new bows and just can't find one I want to shot.
It's all about speed these days.

The diff between 265 and 300 are so slight.
I would rather have raw energy and accuracy.
I only shot 50% let off also......I want energy.

That bow came that way.

I took a medialist...which is basicaly the same bow two inches bigger and had it done up.

Unless your gona still hunt don't get worked up about the size.

yeah i will mostly hunt from a stand, but you never know i may decide to still hunt.... this is a pretty tough decision

I think my bow is a 40" axle to axle, but it is a '93 PSE. I think a new bow would be fun, but I don't like the high let offs 70-80% (it also disqualifies you for Pope and Young). The most important thing for accuracy is brace height. Anything less than 7" gets pretty squirrely. I would get the team Primos at 65%, but I don't do a lot of tree stand hunting.

it disqualifies you for P & Y, what the fuck!!

well they are all mostly adjustable to 65%...... right??

most of them you have to get a new cam to get 65%, I looked at a new bow and talked to the company and they said they did not really care about P&Y so that is why they go soooo high on let off %.

you know, to be honest, I could care less about making the book, I would not even enter an animal in the book unless it scored very high. But...if i shot a bull or buck that was say top 20 ever taken with a bow, I would want it in the book for others to see. The real deal with archery, is it isn't WHAT you shoot, but rather how well you shoot what you have. I would like a new bow, but I am an awesome shot with mine and it works perfect still, plus i have a sentimental attachment to it so I cannot justify getting a new one. Go to www.xiarchery.com and check out their bows, I cannot believe how cheap the prices are.
