the small ninjas are mainly for beginners IMO

that enduro (xlr650) is sweeeeet - needs a couple mods and that thing would MOVE

small city
but even over the years of being familiar with bikes I havent seen that many enduros on the road. There arent even very many on ebaymotors. I had a Honda XL250R for a couple years and I miss it.

This is a dual sport... dirt and street in one bike. The KLR is a great machine, but a little on the heavy side for long trail rides, but they are GREAT for desert rides. The KLR 650 has been given the title 'best dual sport for the buck' several years in a row.

Anyone who calls you geigh for riding a dual sport is geigh themselves. :evil:

Yah I hear dual sport is fun. (we call dual sport and enduro the same thing)

dirt bike with lights and signals LOL and I guess different tires.

agreed

throw a high flow exhaust on that big 4-stroke thumper and it will be loud as hell. i have always loved 4-stroke dirt bikes. I have some relatives that race motocross and ride Yamaha YZ250Fs. I told them to get a 4-stroke 8 years ago, even though 2-strokes dominated

Enduro to me is a KTM500. What a fun monster that thing is. :p :p :p :p

Although I have enjoyed many trail rides on 4-strokes, I prefer 2-strokes. Right now I have a KDX 220, bored out to 240. I have no problems on hills with him. :)
 
I had a friend who owned a large bike dealership and sold mostly HD & Yamaha but his personal fave was this big new BMW enduro it was the only one he would ride.

Enduros: they are the NEW rage in Cali...so much so- KTM produces the SUPERMOTO from the factory...the traffic is so bad here, this bike is becoming a hot item...its powerful, comfortable, fast, very light and can go from dirt to street...traffic is no longer an issue...
guys are taking them and doing real expensive Mods. in the tight canyons- "we" cannot keep up with the good riders. its Motocross on the pavement and there is no way we can keep up on the narrow tight twisty's... :rolleyes:

yes to start with comparitively speaking...great MPG, cheap insurance- cause the CC's are below the liter or 600 marks. Ins.Co. get hard-ons when you tell them you have over a 900cc or at 600cc...they look at you, "organ donor eh?"... :rolleyes:
 
OH, I meant to tell you fools this. Get this shit:

So, I live in an apt. building and we have garage parking under the building. So, since I moved in last July I noticed a yellow Ducati Monster parked out front mostly, then moved into the garage in the winter. Some dude I never met just parked the bike in his space where he parked his car too. No cover or anything. I went to check it out a month or 2 ago and the bike was covered in dust and dirt and had a busted front turn signal, but looked fine other than that. seemed relatively new, like maybe an 04 or something. Anyway, randomly a few weeks ago I see that his car is gone. Didn't see it for a while. Then I see a new car in his spot. A few days later I see the Monster moved to the back wall of the garage. I tell my roomy that I have a feeling that this guy just bounced and left his bike for good. Next thing you know, it's parked in the fucking trash room, which is accessible from the garage! Just sitting there next to the dumpster! I tried asking the maintenance dude what the deal is but he didn't know.

I have been plotting how to get this bike. Who does that?

lol - check to see if the keys are in it or if there is any registration on it (under the seat)

look at the guidelines on claiming abandoned property in your state, you might be able to legally get it

if its in the garbage the with proper notification (usually public notices in newspaper, plus mail) if they dont respond in a reasonable timeframe that it is being removed/claimed then you can reregister it

i was managing some units and someone left a bus in the driveway. a fucking BUS. so i checked it all out, found out how to claim stuff etc

for practical purposes, run teh plates/registration, then call your super to ask if that tennant is still around or not, and if the tenant has been gone (and therefore, the carport is no longer theirs to be called a 'private parking' you maaay have reasonable grounds for claiming it as abandoned

whats it worth btw?

people who are learning to ride a bike.. people who are smart enough to not go out and buy a 1000cc bike and kill themselves 30 minutes after buying it

A Pu$$y or a girl would buy those type of bikes.. Buy a real bike with muscle. I just happen to have a Yellow Suzuki TL1000R that I need to sell ..
