A great shrink told me once back in the day that ALL parents fuck their children up. It is inevitable. The goal of good parenting is to raise your child with an "acceptable level of fucked-up-ness."

I remember sitting in a "parenting class" over the summer (yea, my ex abuses my kids but I have to take the class lol - it was a good experience though, reaffirmed what I knew all along... ) Anyway, there was a woman there who claimed to have had "THE PERFECT CHILDHOOD". Why was she at this mandatory parenting class? Her husband of 15 years beat her so badly that she had to be hospitalized but she didnt feel the need to press charges against him. She was further befuddled that DYFUS took custody of her two preteen daughter from her as well.

I am NOT judging her. After nearly 3 years I finally yielded custody to a man who beat me too... It was just SUCH an eyeopener for me, told me a lot about how fucked up I WAS and just how far I had come since that time.

I felt sorry for her (and for a few other women in the class in similar situations, most were there though because THEY KNEW they had issues and wanted to become BETTER PARENTS SO THAT THEIR CHILDREN DID NOT REPEAT THE CYCLE) but I also felt proud of me for FINALLY "getting it".

speaking of fucked up, i just told a 70-yr old woman to go fuck herself in the grocery store. she was accusing me of cutting line in a cramped little grocery store even though lines were clearly merging. when she wouldn't shut her trap, i said "lady, go fuck yourself."

i hate snobby rich people. then again, maybe i'm just pushing my hrt dosage too high....
