Person 1 and 2 and 3 work for the same company.

Person 1 was fired for having "another job that conflicted with XXXX Company requirements"

Person 1's job was to be given to.or split among persons 2 and 3.

Person 2 had zero experience with possible new job duties.

Person 3 had experience.

Person 2 was found to:

a - be actively campaigning AGAINST person 3 - including some basic lies

b - was actively looking for another job as he applied to a company who is owned by a friend of person 3.

Person 2 got ALL the duties and a 12% pay jump

What should person 3 do??

blackmail his ass... that is for sure. Get him fired from his current job and influence the friend at the other job not to hire him.

then sleep with his boyfriend for good measure.

Post on elite fitness c & c for all the posters to engage in conversation about "what would Kant suggest" in such a situation, of course.

DONE

Guacamole!!!

kick his ass.

No really, If I were 3 (you) I would speak nicely to the owner and suggest the fact that you are more qualified. Also let owner (boss) know that you feel that it was not right. Sit down and think what you should do.
a) sit back and watch as person 2 who is underqualified goes and screws every thing up, meanwhile u sit back laughing at it
b) try to be a good doobie and pick up the pieces that person 2 messes up
c) Quit
Now personally I would try to show my abilities and help fix whatever person 2 messes up. Then after a few months of the boss seeing person 2 mess up and you clean it up hope that the boss rethinks his decisions. If not then i would no longer waste my time and get a new job.
Hope that helped

Person number 3 should sit back and watch number 2 royally screw up.....

Eventually...your boss will realize number 2 is a piece of shit

Then I'm sorry for you Bro. Not much you can do at this point other than correcting whatever lies the other guy was telling about you. Seeking job advancement outside the company isn't really a bad thing. It may even be why they gave him the promotion, assuming they were concerned about losing him. In any case now that they have promoted him the extra pay I'm assuming cancels any desire for immediate change. If it paid that much more I'd think you'd apply for the position yourself.

Even correcting lies is a tough call, unless the accusations are addressed to you by your boss. He'll just claim they were never a consideration, he didn't believe them etc etc. And all you really accomplished is validating them to an extent by expressing concern.

In my mid 20's I learned never to assume the right thing would ever be done in the work place. I kept my mouth shut, didn't complain, and produced. Not in some subjective way but in a career which could be measured in hard numbers. I was always at the top, often far above the second guy.

Then corporate institutes evaluations. My VP reviews my evaluation with me. I was being passed up for a promotion because apparently I wasn't taking an active enough interest in things like weekly meetings. I showed up, but I wasn't vocal enough to suit him. Keep in mind that for the most part these meetings existed as misnomered pep rallys to encourage production.

So I could either be upset or deal with the reality. The reality was that however pointless these poorly conceived stupid "rah rah" rallies were, they were important to him. Because I realized in the end they were more or less all he did, and I wasn't clapping him on the back enough.

So I took an active role in his dumbass meetings, and essentially treated him as I did a client. I also found ways to make certain they knew I was being actively courted by other employers and head hunters.

The short of it is it doesn't matter who the better guy was. It's like complaining that some chick chose a guy who is less appealing than you. The other guy played the game better, and however much it doesn't make sense, humans never do.

In a perfect world yes. Person 3 should start looking for employment else where.

lol...number two IS a piece of shit.

I would sit down with the decision maker and talk to them about employee moral. I would then go into all the details you just posted.
Then have sex with his wife...
and daughter...
and post pictures...

ok, after carefully reviewing all the facts, I think person 3 should:

shave his head and stop wearing red lipstick
look for another job that doesn't require him to speak
put a lampshade on his head and take a pic
finish the whole "sex change operation" thing.

LMAO

Just got "THE" email......about the big promotion.....LMFAO

the thing is....PERSON 1 was fired for a part-time job outside the company

Person 2 - who got the promtion was sending resumes out, unbeknown to the supervisor.

what a crock of poo

quote of the day...LMAO...sig material

I had a "think tank" job once where we were supposed to come up with action plans for problems. The Bosses would then select one from all those offered and put it into place.

Had one very smart Boss who looked at all the black binders and said ... "You didn't bring me the best one." We all got quiet thinking our time to shine and get promoted just went out the window. "You didn't tell me ... What happens if I do nothing?"

Doing nothing is a legitiment course of action.

Do nothing. Go back to work and do your normal job to the best of your abilities.
