I'm a big fun of MMA/UFC watching it makes me wanna do it. My mind is mixed I really need to learn MMA specially Jiu Jutsu. I wonder where is the best gym/school around here?
Wherever you are will be better than where I am, my shitty small town doesn't have anywhere to learn MMA, just one bodybuilding gym with extremely old almost rusty equipment, not heated so its always freezing cold. They used to have mma class upstairs but didn't last long. Now I have nowhere to go to learn MMA.
Your best bet is to do your own research about that bro. Everyone has their own opinions about which gym is better for what they do. I've been grappling since I was 5 and I'm 28 now. I got into mma when I was 12. Some gyms are better at one thing than others I've found. And some do line drills and don't really teach you proper technique or form. So like I said, jump on google, find out what's around you and check them out yourself. Most good gyms will let you hang out in there for an hr or so to see what they're about. So do that and find out what's best for you. If they're doing line drills WALK AWAY.
You must be good then! I wish I started grappling at that age. I did karate and tkd. Have two black belts but started jiu jitsu and western boxing 4 years ago...BIG DIFFERENCE
I just got my black belt in jiu jitsu when I won my last fight. I'm 8-0 right now in my mma career. Ive only been fighting competitively for just over a year. My ex girlfriends dad was a bb in tkd, that shits bad ass. I have a real interest in that and judo. I fight for a real well known gym and some real elite fighters ( I can't mention names because of the type of forum this is and some posts I've made) so I have EXCELLENT training and feel grateful for the opportunity these people are giving me. I'm moving up two weight classes by feb. It's delicious doing this because I can eat whatever I want. Donuts for breakfast, white bread if I want, fruity pebbles cereal. I haven't eatin that in a year. If you're ever in San Diego you should pm me and I'll take you to my gym to see what it's about. Our jiu jitsu trainer is off the hook! We do what's called American jiu jitsu. It's a wrestling / Brazilian jiu jitsu mix
Good to hear bro...I train at a high level gym as well. There are a couple of UFC and Bellatore guys...
