Mixing Carbs and Fats?

growin'

New member
I have read a few of you saying to avoid mixing carbs and fats in the same meal. Have you found that this makes a noticeable difference in BF? This goes against Duchaine's Isocaloric Diet, and that seems to work well. I am assuming you eat your carbs only pre and post workout, and avoid them later in the evenings?

So, I could continue to eat 33p/33c/33f, but with more carbs earlier, and less carbs later in the day?

Some swear by the "no carb/fat" thing. I've seen no studies on it, only anecdotal evidence (which you can find on just about anything if you look hard enough). Until I read more solid info on it, I don't think it's worth much.

Only fat I'll take in w/ just carbs is Flax... haven't had any problems w/ it. I find it actually helps to cut as well, regardless how I take it.

BUMP

Why the famous "avoid mixing carbs and fats in the same meal" ?

Can't you take carbs (for energy), protein and fat BEFORE working out ?

Here's an answer to this question from Lyle McDonald from MFW. It only addresses the question implicitly, but it was good enough for me.

Question:
Or should you break your meals up unevenly so long as your
isocaloric ratios are met at the end of the day? John Berardi at T-Mag seems to think that breaking them up between pro/fat and pro/carb meals is the best bet while never eating a fat/carb meal. He also doesn't mention any refeed times and his version is tailored for a bulk phase not a cutting phase.

Answer:
John Berardi doesn't know shit from shinola.
