Milk - good protein source or not

I have ben deriving Alot of my protein from milk lately. I don't care about the extra carbs - b/c i'm not dieting, but should I care ??

also, is milk a good protein source or a waste , it seems to work for me. I drink about 1.25 L a day @ 180-3 lbs. so about 40 gm of protein/ day
 
It's fine as a protein source. The only real problems with it are one; the saturated fat content and two, carbs, but that only affects keto dieters.

I personally think of lactose as a culprit for a lot of people (digestion wise) because humans were not designed to drink the milk of other animals. I would say the only thing that could hurt you is the sugar, and maybe the fact that you're not absorbing all the protein.

the sugar doesn't bother me, and i drink skim milk. i never get bloated or gaseous either. how do i know if i'm not absorbing all the protein ?
 
I'm not sure if this happens with everyone, but my stomach gets bloated from one glass of milk, while i can eat a nice fat steak and see nothing. :confused:

I try to avoid it because of the high fat content.
 
Yeah, it's a great source of protein, and more important calcium. But it is high in fat, even skim milk. Taking in 1.2 litres a day is alot of milk.
 
you can find skimmed milk with very little fat


but there is (almost always) much lactose :(

The lactose is what creates the problems, not the fat content. So, I dread the lactose in milk.
