Milestone

Some of you may already know from a previous post that I drive a ghetto sled '88 Blazer. I hit 230,00 miles yesterday. I am 25 and I have had it since I was a junior in high school. She's looking a little rough. Headliner is falling down, turn signals don't work, rockin mad rust, my speakers only work on the left side, I can open my door with ANY key (opened it with a fork before), seatbelt doesn't work, holes in the roof because it used to be a mailtruck, the 4 wheel drive doesn't work, there is a crack on the windshield at eye level that goes from one side to the other, the rearview mirror fell off, and if someone hasn't had a tetanus shot it isn't safe for them to get in due to the rust. Other than that it is pretty much crisp. I hope the next 230,000 miles are just as much fun as the first.

Congrats on the milestone, ever had in major problems with it?
Just a blown engine, heater core, sticking thermostat, 4 wheel drive is broken, about 17 alternators, other than that it's top notch.

Not bad for 230,000 miles
To be honest, I am shocked that it is still alive. It actually doesn run well believe it or not. Hopefully, I can bury it in a few months.

I have never had a car make it past a 100,000, something always happens, usually blown engines. But I wont lie it always my fault. Bro, I bet you saved a lot of money overall having it that long, I wish I could do that.

That's true, I have saved a lot of money. My dad wrote a check for it when I was in high school. Haven't ever made a payment on it, just recently started the liability insurance.

My car is coming up on 175,000 which isn't too bad considering it's a 91 geo metro. It's the car I learned to drive on 13years ago. My dad gave it to me when I graduated college, so between it being free, getting 45+ miles to the gallon, and only costing $500 per year to insure it's a keeper. I plan on getting a new car next year, but I'll keep the old one for going back and forth to work.

Cheers,

If I lived in California I definitely would, I'm in the dirty south, maybe xzibit will come visit me. I am so ready to get something else

Nothing wrong with that. My dad payed for my car, that's why I can't really complain. Ok, okay, I know I'm complaining but I shouldn't be.

I am thankful to have my car without payments, it allowed me to get my Harley when I did.

Couldn't afford the card

Damn that sucks.

Just save up for a bit and go buy a deck, then you get like 56 replacements including the instruction cards.
