J - Thank you SOOOOOO much for the flowers. I didn't think THAT'S what you were "sending" - lol

They are absolutely beautiful

For all who don't know.....I was kind of down in the dumps last week and Mermaid said she had something to send me .....so I'm thinking - a little something cute - and I was shocked yesterday to get home and find a large boquet of flowers waiting for me! :twirl:

I loved the card too! 12,000 miles away, but that doesn't matter!!!! Who would have thought by coming to a fitness website you could find such awesome people to call "friends". (((HUG)))

....here they are....

Damn that's so sweet! Its so nice to see the amazing support & real world impact from the often very surreal world of the interweb :)

Great progress M! On so many levels! I'd raise a glass to ya, but I'm keeping my all my bottles closed until at least some time after July. I'll raise a 45 lb DB to ya instead!

Must add that I have not had a drink for 17 days - sounds pathetic to most people but a big deal for me. Get through another Friday night and I'm looking at 3 clean weeks. Yay! I am realising that my diet failures are closely linked to alcohol and the cheats that follow thereafter. This is obvious I guess but I have to experience things to understand their significance.
WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO for day 17 !! :garza:

I quit smoking on June 6, 2005. cold turkey, no patches, no gum, nothing but sheer willpower and I can honestly say I haven't touched one since.

You my dear Mer-person, have gone 17 days without drinking. Do you realize just how strong you have to be to accomplish that? You've already proven your strength and proven that you CAN do it. You rock.

:velvett: now get them shells movin - you have goals to meet!

Diet was stuffed up today. Had to travel, business meeting and a home builders covention. I took some "snacks" expecting to be able to get some kind of protein while away but that just didn't happen. The only food outlet I came across sold fried food, burgers etc. and I just couldn't go there. So macros are way off.

I was able to leave home a bit later in the morning, so I put on some LOUD music and danced around the apartment for about 30 mins. I really got up a sweat and felt so good. Does that count for cardio?

I got home late but still went to the gym - leg day. An awkward start though....It's Friday night and the gym is not busy. We approach the one and only squat rack and a PT and his client are doing BENCH. We look over to the bench rack and the smith machine and both were empty. OK. So P asks the trainer how many sets do you have left? He says oh mate, we're going to be here for a while. P says, you've got to be kidding right? The trainer says, I don't see there being a problem with that. P says, well I do mate, there are two other machines you can use for flat bench. The trainer wouldn't budge. And then P got that glint in his eye and it was on......

Let's just say we got the squat rack. And had an awesome workout. And got eveil looks from the trainer and his client all night.

P cracked me up - he was ranting (between sets) about how can a TRAINER of all people be so dumb. We watched as the trainer then erected this "platform" with a reebok step and the bench infront of the cable machine and got his client to STAND on the sloping bench in a lunge position and do rope bicep curls. P wanted to go over and say excuse me mate but this ain't the fu<king Cirque de Soleil.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!
