Do you guys think that their death was caused becuase of long term use>>>?? I read that Mike M. had heart probs. and was awaiting a kidney transplant he was 49.
How long do you think the pros nowadays will last with the amount of chemicals they put into their body???

I don't know about Ray , but Mike was an admitted speed addict ( for years ). He talked openly and frankly about it . ( so far into it (speed) that he was also homeless for period of time ).

i heard they were gay. neither married, no kids, no women just those two in their apartment together. gimme a break. i love my brother but there aint that much love in the world unless you are gay or something.

U have no idea abiut either of them being gay, From what I can recall Mike was in and out of mental hospitals, and had some chemical imbalances.

He was also a true genous when it came to BB. His death is a great loss. His era was to me the best in BB ever. In my opinion he will be sorely missed.

Mike dated chicks and his brother Ray moved in with him because he needed Mikes help - Ray was on kidney dialysis and was in ill health. Mike was indeedd arrested and committed to institutions on more than one occassion and was adicted to amphetamines for about 5 years.

"what happens to bodybuilders when they get old?" has been the question for years (i think it was from pumping iron)... well, they don't.

I believe that was from the film "Stay Hungry" and the reply was "they die".

its so weird that the guys that run around the fuckin gym (mentzer brothers) screaming how much they know about bodybuilding and gaining muscle etc......are always the ones on the sidelines watching the guys like ronnie, flex, and dorian get on stage and get the dam ob done....

if i had to choose between being one of the best bb in the world and simply just talking about getting there i would choose "BEST BB OF THE WORLD"

just my opinion on all of mentzers "philosophical" ramblings.

What?? Mike was and will be an icon in BB. His training techniques are some of the best ever. He did watch a lot of guys onstage, after he retired from competing, but had a great physique when he competed. He trained and did consulting for many BB.

You might want to research him a while before you flame him. His impact on BB and training in general has been huge!!!!
