I like to look a certain way at work, and Im afraid of coming in dressed what I would deem as too casual.BIKINIMOM said:How do ya'll find the Men's Store? Back in the day my ex did well there. He had a muscular build so there had to be some alterations but that was included in the price. I liked the European cut best, as I HATED the slits in the back over his behind... actually over any man's behind. I thought it looked queer.
Instead of a 3 piece did you ever consider getting a nice sport coat and couple nice pairs of slacks? Couple different shirts and couple different ties, you get more *look* for the money.

As shallow as it seems I work in an image business. Which kinda sucks considering how ugly I am.
It gives me an excuse to go tanning and spend $45 on my haircuts.BIKINIMOM said:Oh believe you me, I understand what you are saying. I had to "play the part" m'self whereas my Old Grump would show up daily wearing jeans and his T's that he got from various rallies, his beard all braided n'shit... LOL I finally got enough experience under m'belt where I am startin' to send out the same vibe. Till then, y'gotta dress the part.

I think it was actually at Nordstroms.
That reminds me I need some new steel toes and carhartts.

I dont mind it really. I like the way I feel when I dress better than everyone else for work.BIKINIMOM said:As I said, My Old Grump has some custom shit hangin in the closet (very few pieces survived his last "hostile takeover") and as I said he wears his jeans, T'shirts, do-rag and I braid his beard... Hell I may have landed a pretty decent sized account today wearing khakis and a shirt I picked up at the resale shop... We are in different businesses though...
I completely understand the image business though... Sorta sucks but once you gain enough experience you can pretty much right your own ticket.

But then again I have self-confidence issues.

If anything screams SALESMAN louder in this world -- is seeing some flashy well dressed well groomed man walking down the street.
Don't be that guy.
Just dress nice and comfortable. Most execs i've seen, just wear sweaters, shirts and slacks. Nothing extravagent.

I tried showing up to work naked once and people threw garbage at me.
Bleed.MightyMouse69 said:I'm guessing the garbage being thrown was more due to your Ambac recoomendation.
