Down here, Ice Fishing is when you are at a party, and you have
to painfully dig all the way down into the cooler of Ice and water
to get the last Beer..

Your so coooooooool.

Depending on where you are in Ontario.. there could be lots to do for New Years... or there could be...ice fishing.. to do for New Years. :)

I went ice fishing awhile back.. it was creepy driving on the ice and you hear the pressure cracks.. :eek2: We caught some tiny fish. My cousin was being disgusting and poking their eyeballs out and putting them on a mini-snowman she made. It was quite gross.

I've lived in Canada all my life...yet...have never been ice fishing. The only outdoor activity I participate in during winter is skiing.

you should love it,but dress real warm unless you get a hut. as for driving on the ice I think thats crazy because once you go off solid ground insurance doesnt cover you anymore ,and Ive saw a few guys trucks go through.

any update on where it is your going yet?

Ok ,its official i am going. My buddy says its in Souixnarrows some where called Lake of The Woods. We are staying at a Motel and he has snowmobiles to ride back and fourth to the fishing. Its the first time icefishing and the first time in Canada.I'm kinda excited.

Wow, that's far from where I am.. Mapquest: 24 hours, 14 minutes :D I think you're closer to BigDawg's house in Winnipeg.

Sounds like it will be fun though, bring warm stuff!

You will have a killer time there bro!

I was there camping in the summer, its about 3 1/2 hours east of where i live. I didn't get to fish but that is what that place is known for.

I have fished in other parts of Lake of the Woods and it has been great!

The whole area is God's country and its great for sledding!

Good friend of my parents used to keep there boat up in Lake of the Woods I remeber the pics looks like Gods country.

It truly is Gods country there, the first week of my holidays was spent at a cabin on the other side of the Lake from Sioux Narrows. It was paradise! 7 of us have done this 2 years in a row and will be it again next summer!

Lots of sun, lots of beer, LOTS of fun!!!

My parents have a boat if I get a chance I will scan a pic of this place call the Benjiman Islands it is in the North Channels.
Breath taking.
