Anyone know whats up? I max out my bench and I , One. Can't do it. Two. Feel like my oxygen isn't getting to my head or something because I feel like my vision is leaving me FAST! like the cloudy-black out thing you know? What is causing this?

Well are you holding your breath when your trying to max or are you letting it all out...?

I am breathing properly to my knowledge.

lol , it has never happend to me before.

Lucky yall who pass out. I can't. If I keep going my heart explode before passing out. :(

Do you get this alot also from standing up quickly after being in a seated position? I get dizzy when my hemoglobin and iron levels are too low from bouts of Crohn's disease that cause anemia. Once the blood levels are normal the problem goes away.

knew a kid that a friend coached inhigh school--who would pass out every time he finished 440 (maybe 800, don;t remember) --turned-out he was holding his breath and did not even know it until the put a monitor on him--pretty funny to watch, though

Your trying to lift to heavy! Haha j/k bro. Its gota be breathing. How exactly are you breathing? And how much cardio do you do?

lol I don't do a WHOLE Lot of cardio but like 1-2 hours a week give or take. usually 25-30 mins pre workout. It has to be my breathing... what am I doing wrong though hehe

Next time you max try this:

After you have the weight loaded sit on the bench and take a few deep breaths. Take a shallow breath in and lay back. Exhale firmly to clear the lungs. Breath normally as you get set up with grip and placement of feet. Take a couple of quick deep breaths then exhale firmly again. Take in a large deep breath expanding your chest as much as possible. Pick up the weight (if using spotter do your countdown or however you like it) and center it over your chest. You should still have a lot of air left in your lungs but try and pull in as much more as you can. Lower the weight and start your press, just prior to lockout breath out. Rack the weight then take a couple of slow deep breaths before you stand up.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Before doing anything take as many as 15 deep breaths
then always start with lungs full of air and exhale at the top of your exercise
At least that's how
I do it and don't have a problem

I often feel dizzy when getting up too quickly after a set of weighted back extensions. If I keep my head down for a few seconds before I stand I'm fine.
